"These shoes were meant for walking . . . "
Lee and I walk to the Mission Office every morning and walk back to our Hotel Room every evening so that gets in 2 miles of walking. Then we usually walk somewhere for dinner for about mile. But of course Lee runs every morning as well (4 miles!)

Today the training continued with me learning about Baptismal Records, posting, reports, letters, referrals, etc. It will be interesting to see what I actually am assigned once the Mission President decides how to divide up the office tasks between the sisters. There will be two of us once Sister Robbins comes on board mid-March.
These two Elders are the Assistants to President Peterson; Elder Medeiros (from Centerville, Utah and Elder Frederickson, from Weston, Idaho). They keep very busy and currently are involved with the various Zone Conferences taking place - which requires them to fly to the different islands!

Amazing beautiful flowers found here in Paradise! So colorful and bright!
We are standing in front of a most beautiful pool situated by the Church's Tabernacle. The Mission Office is also located here. Happy to survive Day 2!
My personal Trainer is Sister Fowler from Layton, Utah. She is a lovely lady who works so very hard and really carries the bulk of the work in the office. Yesterday I have to admit that I was a little overwhelmed because I found out I "get" to learn both jobs and then will train another Sister before I move onto learning my duties as Secretary to the Mission President. Lots to learn, but today was much better. We spent time learning about Baptism records to be recorded so that SL can issue Membership numbers, and Referrals (neat system that automatically sends a cell phone message to the Elder that they can respond to within 24 hours!) Day 2 in the Tank!
This is Lee with who he is replacing, Elder Fowler. Lee is impressed with how organized Elder Fowler has everything. He wears a lot of different hats and works very hard, but seems to get everything done. Lee has lots to learn, but is fortunate to have such a good trainer. Duties will include Finances, Apartments, Missionary Credit Cards, Missionary Cell Phones, and backing up the Mission President.

Our first official day at the Mission Office included attending (very briefly to be introduced and share testimonies with the Zone Leaders) a Zone Conference which was in progress with President Peterson and 22 of the cutest Elders - including our very own Elder Brandon Petersen, formally of Elk Ridge! Marilyn & Scott - your son is doing GREAT and is absolutely darling, but don't tell him I said so. What a great missionary!
