My Testimony

I have always loved the words that Joseph Smith recorded in his personal History following his experieave alwnce of the First Vision: “For I had seen a vision; I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it, neither dare I do it; at least I knew that by so doing I would offend God, and come under condemnation.” Joseph had gained an unshakeable testimony of God and Jesus Christ that he was true to all his life, and that testimony enabled him to live the gospel with patience and perseverance. It is my hope that we all strive towards acquiring an unshakeable testimony.

I know that the Book of Mormon is a gift from our loving Heavenly Father, and that Joseph Smith was instrumental in bringing us that perfect record. What a blessing it is in all of our lives. I love the teachings found in this marvelous Book, along with many wonderful examples of Prophets and Leaders that we can pattern our own lives after.

I am grateful that this knowledge of the gospel helps us to live happy and fulfilled lives which will brings us closer to our Heavenly Father.

I am mostly grateful for our dear Savior Jesus Christ; for his life, the mission he accomplished while here upon the earth, and for his great atoning sacrifice for all of His children that someday we may live again with Him and our families.

To borrow from Brother Joseph’s words, I want you to all know that I too have a testimony of this gospel. I know it to be true, and I know that God knows that I know, for this the only true Church upon the face of the earth.

One of my favorite church hymns is “Come Thou Font of Every Blessing.” Often those words some to me:

“Here’s my heart! Oh take and seal it, seal it for thy courts on high.”

I am grateful to all of you; what a wonderful ward we have. You are such shinning examples to me and for that I am most grateful. I pray that as Lee & I start our mission, tomorrow morning, that we will represent you well. I dedicate this mission to my Savior and pray that through this opportunity to serve that He will know of my love for Him. I leave this testimony with you, grateful for all my many blessings, and do so - In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
